Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

VodShorter is a service, operated by PI Innovations, LLC ("we", "us", "our"), that processes podcast and video content to produce short-form clips. If you have privacy questions, contact us at support@vodshorter.com.

2. What data we collect and why

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of any kind. Usage events go to our own analytics server, are never shared with ad networks, and are never used for advertising.

3. Third-party processors

We share data with the following processors solely to deliver the service:

• Stripe — payment processing (your card data never touches our servers)
• Groq — audio transcription via Whisper (your audio is sent for processing)
• Anthropic — AI clip selection via Claude (transcripts are sent for processing)
• Resend — transactional email delivery (your email address is shared)
• Cloudflare R2 — cloud storage for uploaded and processed video files

Each processor is contractually bound to use your data only for the purpose described above.

4. Data retention

• Session tokens: expire after 7 days of inactivity
• Source upload files: deleted from storage 24 hours after processing completes
• Processed clip files: deleted from storage 7 days after processing completes — download your clips before then
• Account data (email, name, purchase history): retained until you delete your account
• Transcripts and clip metadata: retained with your job records until account deletion

5. Your rights

If you are in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access — download a copy of all data we hold about you
• Erasure — delete your account and all associated data
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Rectification — correct inaccurate data
• Objection — object to processing where legitimate interest is the basis

To exercise access or portability, use the Export my data option in your account settings. To exercise erasure, use the Delete my account option in your account settings. For other requests, contact support@vodshorter.com.

6. Cookies

We set one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you logged in. It is HttpOnly (not accessible to JavaScript), expires after 7 days, and is strictly necessary for the service to function. No consent is required for this cookie.

We do not use any advertising, analytics, or third-party cookies. Our usage analytics run on our own server and set no cookies and no browser storage of any kind — which is why this site has no cookie banner to click through.

7. Security

Session tokens are stored as SHA-256 hashes — a database breach cannot yield usable tokens. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Video files are stored in Cloudflare R2 and accessed via short-lived signed URLs.

8. Children

VodShorter is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update the "Last updated" date at the top when we make material changes. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
